Hotel Chain, Hyatt gets its payment system hacked

Hyatt Hotels, the chain that owns over 600 properties around the world recently found malware on their payment processing systems. They are the latest hotel chain to be breached in the past few months. Last month both Starwood and rival hotel chain the Hilton announced having their data hacked. A month before, the Trump Hotel Collection reported that they had discovered malware that may have running in their systems for over a year.

As of now, Hyatt Hotels, has not disclosed any information regarding the number of hotels or customers affected by the data breach. They are undergoing investigation and have posted an informational with updates and page asking customers to review their credit card statements for suspicious charges.

Hyatt has engaged third-party cyber security specialists and stated that they have taken steps to strengthen the security of their current systems. They also claimed that customers should feel “confident using payment cards at Hyatt Hotels worldwide”.

The Hyatt discovered the breach on November 30th and they have not offered customers any fraud or credit support at this point other than their support line to answer any questions.
